A bit about the Larimer County Horseman’s Association.
We are a non-profit 501C3 organization. Formed in 1972 to be an advocacy group for the use of horses in Larimer County, LCHA works hard to ensure future generations will have equine recreational opportunities in Larimer County.
LCHA works closely with state, county, and city officials to help create and maintain trails along the front range. Currently LCHA helps to maintain these multi-use trails: Lion Gulch trail (USDA Forest Service), Devils Backbone trail (Larimer County Department of Natural Resources), and Mill Creek trail in Horsetooth Mountain Park. LCHA has written letters of support as part of the grant applications for GOCO funds to build the trails, and make them multi-use. Our interest, of course, is especially for horse riding use.
LCHA has an equine evacuation team, trained and ready to assist the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, Larimer Humane Society, and Loveland Fire Authority. LCHA’s contact is Hugh Templeton (970) 622-0982.
LCHA also provides monthly educational programs from September to May, clinics, trail rides, Poker Trail Ride, picnic, and parade participation. We have done special events such as the Hope Charity Ride, and Poker Ride.
A Voice for Equestrian Needs
Your Membership in LCHA helps provide a voice for equestrian needs in the County. LCHA memberships help keep horse use in the plans for trails along the Front Range. An example of this is LCHA’s support letters for Grants and participation in the Technical Advisory Committee for Hermit Park with the goal of horse trails and equestrian camping facilities. LCHA has also supported and helped the Red Mountain trail projects.

Equine Touch: www.TheEquineTouch.com
Cindy is an Equine Touch Practitioner & has extensive knowledge in Equine Touch & Aromatherapy Oils for use in whole horse healing.
Equine Touch is a non-diagnostic, non-invasive energy-release modality that works at a completely holistic level: It addresses the individual as a whole without paying any particular attention to any named problem.
The Equine Touch is a unique set of hands-on procedures to be performed over specific points of the musculor-skeletal framework in a specific direction and pattern. When performed with accuracy, integrity, and intent these moves unlock the innate wisdom of the body encouraging it to reset itself and release energy blocks, thus bringing about balance and health on all levels – physical, chemical, emotional, and behavioral

On The Wings of a Horse
On the Wings of a Horse, Annette Price, Platteville, CO. (970-785-9090)
Have your ever gotten so stuck in life (frustrated, depressed, confused) that you pull up to a stop sign and you don’t know whether you are supposed to turn left or right? As a life coach my goal is to assist my clients in finding their own answers to those life issues that bring them down. My business partner weighs 900 pounds and has 4 legs. As a prey animal, she has the innate ability to sense energy – moving towards that which is comfortable and away from that which is not – bringing insight and guidance to our personal issues. It can be fun, it is usually very enlightening, and is a new and exciting way to move forward in life.
CAMP UNPLUGGED is a day camp for children 8-12 years old. It focuses on building self esteem, responsibility, confidence, and communication skills by being out doors, practicing life skills, and learning how to be safe with large animals. Incorporating art projects, games, and many experiential exercises with horses and donkeys, it is fun filled week at Dragonfly Farm in Platteville, CO.
“My boys had a great time at camp. They learned compassion towards animals and nature. They got to be up close with animals that they don't normally get to see. This was such a great experience for them that I am definitely having them sign up for camp next year. They don't get to experience this anywhere else.”
